Which Josiah Carlson am I?

It turns out that the name "Josiah Carlson" is fairly common. Which one am I?

I was born in Northern Minnesota, was raised in Vermillion, Minnesota, went to college at Macalester College in St. Paul, and I went to grad school at the University of California, Irvine. The Theoretical Computer Science group I used to be a part of, links back here.

I've been blogging for over 20 years, starting at personal web pages around 1998, moving to Livejournal in the Fall of 2002 (see the link below), and this blog in the summer of 2010. My Livejournal is basically defunct.

Long story short, since defending my dissertation December 2007, I have (in no particular order), helped rewrite a GPS navigation system (Networks in Motion), write a traffic avoidance system, bad traffic + accident along route notification system, 4x ad serving platforms, desktop and mobile ordering websites, a Twitter analytics platform, written a book, participated in more than 1600 help threads supporting Redis, written a video social platform (Youtube Groups, running summer 2009-December 2010), built search engines, integrated with 4 payment providers, built a banking platform, handled PCI and/or SOCKS compliance for 2 companies, built maintenance, reporting, logging, alerting, written and released several open-source projects, including a 95% SQL layer for Redis + Python (missing joins and aggregates, on purpose).

I've been 1 of 4-5 people in the room for 3x startups originally based in/around Los Angeles (Ad.ly, Chownow, Zeconomy), have have been 3x Chief Architect, 1x VP Technology, 1x Sr Engineer for companies in/around Los Angeles / Orange County that have collectively raised / sold for more than $502 million in total. No company that I have worked for have failed; all have sold or continued to function (good business, venture financing, private financing).

Other sites/profiles/etc., that I post or have posted to include (but are not limited to):

I do have a Facebook profile, but it's publicly locked down, and I don't really do anything there.

Old/dead profiles:

To reduce the confusion between myself and other Josiah Carlsons on the internet; I have never lived in Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Florida, Oregon, or Washington. I've not used Flash, nor have I personally developed any mobile apps for the iPhone, though a previous company that I worked for/cofounded (Chownow) did develop hundreds of mobile apps, I managed the developers involved, and wrote the server-side components before leaving. I am also not religious.
